Frequently Asked Questions
General
Is Vadya available on Mac or Linux?
Not yet. Vadya is currently Windows-only. Mac and Linux versions are planned for the future.
What audio formats does Vadya support?
FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC (M4A), MP3, AAC, OGG Vorbis, Opus, WavPack, APE, WMA, and CUE sheets.
What are the system requirements?
Windows 10 or later (64-bit). Any modern PC will run Vadya. For ASIO output, you'll need a compatible audio interface with ASIO drivers installed.
Trial
How does the free trial work?
Download Vadya and get 14 days of full access — no credit card required, no feature limitations. When the trial ends, you'll need to purchase a license to continue using the app.
Can I extend my trial?
Contact [email protected] if you need more time to evaluate Vadya.
Pricing & Licensing
What plans are available?
- Monthly — $5/month, cancel anytime
- Annual — $50/year (save $10), cancel anytime
- Lifetime — $250 one-time payment, yours forever
All plans include the same features. There are no feature restrictions on any tier.
How many machines can I use my license on?
One machine at a time. You can deactivate your license in Settings and reactivate it on a different machine whenever you need to.
How do I activate my license?
After purchase, you'll receive a license key by email. Open Vadya, go to Settings, and enter your key. Activation requires an internet connection.
Does using a purchased license require an active internet connection?
Vadya needs an internet connection periodically to validate your license. This happens silently in the background when you're online. If validation is missed, the app will prompt you to reconnect — once verified, you can continue using it as normal. All license types — monthly, annual, and lifetime — follow the same validation cycle.
Subscription Management
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to vadya.app/account, enter your license key, and you'll be redirected to the billing portal where you can cancel. Your license stays active until the end of your current billing period.
Will I get a refund if I cancel mid-cycle?
No. When you cancel a subscription, it remains active through the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
Can I get a refund on a lifetime license?
Refund requests for lifetime licenses are considered on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. Contact [email protected].
How do I update my payment method?
Go to vadya.app/account and enter your license key. The billing portal lets you update your card, view invoices, and manage your subscription.
Audio & Features
What is bit-perfect playback?
Bit-perfect means the audio data reaches your DAC exactly as stored in the file — no resampling, no mixing, no modification by the OS. Vadya verifies this in real-time with a bit-perfect indicator.
What's the difference between WASAPI and ASIO?
Both bypass the Windows audio mixer for exclusive access to your audio device. ASIO is the standard for professional audio interfaces (RME, Focusrite, etc.). WASAPI Exclusive Mode works with any Windows audio device without special drivers.
What does crossfeed do?
Crossfeed blends a small amount of the left channel into the right and vice versa, simulating the natural crosstalk you hear from speakers. It makes headphone listening less fatiguing and more natural, especially for older stereo recordings.
Can I control Vadya from my phone?
Yes. Vadya has a built-in web remote. Open Settings, enable Remote Control, and scan the QR code with your phone. No app to install — it works in any mobile browser and can be saved as a PWA.
Privacy & Security
Does Vadya collect any data?
No analytics, telemetry, or usage data is collected from the desktop app. We store only your email (for license delivery), a hardware identifier (for activation), and payment data (processed by Stripe — we never see your card details).
Is my music library metadata collected?
No. Your library metadata never leaves your machine.
